Dracula Castle is a place where every room, every corner, keeps a story, an echo of the past. The interior of the castle is divided into three major levels, each floor revealing a part of the life and times of voivode Vlad Țepeș. With a total area of approximately 850 square meters, the castle manages to combine myth with historical reality, offering visitors an unforgettable cultural experience.
On the ground floor of the castle, visitors are greeted by a small lobby that introduces visitors to the mystery to be revealed. Once you step through the threshold of this room, you will discover a projection room where you can watch films about the life of the legendary ruler, materials made available by the Manifest Association for Heritage. There is also a souvenir shop here, the perfect place to buy gifts for those back home.
The first floor of the castle is dedicated to art and history. An exhibition signed by the famous painter and sculptor Valentin Tănase is located here, which includes paintings that bring to the fore significant moments in the voivode's life. This floor also houses an area displaying the ruler's personal items and an impressive life-size bust, details that bring history closer to visitors' hearts.
Continuing your journey through Castle Dracula, you will reach the second floor which will give you a more intimate insight into life at the royal court. Here, through an impressively reconstructed setting, you will find yourself in the middle of court life, among lords, ladies, boyars and soldiers. Every corner of this floor has been meticulously arranged to give as faithful a picture as possible of the respective times.
The last level of the castle is reserved for the throne room, where you will feel part of the history of voivode Vlad Țepeș. Here, life-size figures of Turkish nobles, dames, soldiers and messengers will tell you stories of courage, honor and sacrifice. By listening to the story of the Turkish ambassadors, you will have the opportunity to better understand the historical context and strategic importance of Vlad the Impaler's reign.
