Castle Dracula

Inaugurated on December 1, 2023, Dracula Castle is a necessary point of attraction on the itinerary of every tourist who is looking for the truth about Vlad Tepes. With tall towers and ramparts, this medieval fortress takes you back in time, offering a glimpse into the region's tumultuous history.

Dracula Castle represents the first large-scale permanent exhibition dedicated to the great Romanian duke.
Spread on 3 floors, Dracula Castle offers you a unique experience that includes watching films, an exhibition of documents and objects (replicas) from the time of Vlad Țepeș, a reenactment with mannequins of the Throne Room and the famous scene in which Vodă responds appropriately to the defiant Turkish soldiers, an exhibition of graphics signed by Valentin Tănase as well as a series of photographs recreating key moments in the voivode's life.

Dracula's Castle is shrouded in the mystery of the ruler Vlad Tepes, known as "Dracula". Vlad Tepes was a military genius and turned even Sultan Mohammed from the way, who said that he could not take the country of a man who does such great things. The novel by the Irish writer portrayed Vlad Tepes in a dark aura.

Vlad Tepes is the only ruler in history who attacked the Ottomans stationed in the fortresses on the Danube, terrorized them with night lightning attacks and the only Voivode in history who disguised himself and went to the Ottoman camp with the intention of capturing the Sultan himself.

At the castle, we put all our skill and skill to show you the documents and evidence that reveal the truth about Vlad Țepeș - the military genius.

Among the exhibits we mention: Vlad's sword, the seal - the only reproduction, the Order of the Dragon and many others.

A visit to Dracula's Castle offers the opportunity to know the truth about the fiercest Voivode of these lands, learn more legends and stories about this wonderful place and get to know our past better.

Guided tours, special events, such as themed evenings or performances with characters from the medieval era, will appear soon!

The origin of the vampire stories about Vlad the Impaler seems to be the novel by the Irish writer Bram Stoker, published in 1897. In fact, since Vlad Vodă was alive, he was systematically denigrated by his political and military opponents. The Hungarian king Matthew Corvinus himself was personally involved in this lying campaign.

The proposed films rehabilitate not only the image of the national hero Vlad Țepeș Draculea but also the historical truth

On the top floor of the museum, we present to you a reconstruction of the scene that took place in the throne room, which represents the moment when the haughty Turkish ambassadors came to Vlad Vodă to ask for tribute, and 500 children for their janissary army. Voda told the guests to remove their turbans from their heads, and they refused saying that they only do so in front of the great Sultan. We are waiting for you at the museum to find out the continuation of the story.
