Vlad Tepes’ Castle is located in one of the most picturesque places in Romania, on the Transfăgărășan. More precisely, on the main street no. 190, Arefu commune, Căpățânenii Ungureni village, Argeș county. The ground floor greets visitors with a welcoming lobby and a screening room where documentaries by the Manifest for Heritage Association illustrate the remarkable stages of the prince’s life. A special detail is the souvenir shop, offering the opportunity to keep tangible memories of the visit.
The second floor opens with an exhibition by renowned artist Valentin Tanase, featuring artworks inspired by the life and reign of Vlad Tepes. The exhibits range from paintings to sculptures, creating an immersive atmosphere. In the same room, visitors can admire the voivode’s personal belongings and an impressive life-size bust.
The top level, the third floor, is devoted to the reconstruction of the throne room, where realistic figures of the ruler, boyars, ladies, ladies-in-waiting, soldiers and Turkish soldiers complete the historical scene, offering a unique perspective of Vlad Tepes’ court.
